Create a Tic Tac Toe Game - hand building in clay for Beginners
Led by Lynn Greenwade, Mena, AR

About this workshop
Using mid-fire stoneware clay, each student will create a hand built Tic Tac Toe game. Perfect for gifts, these games offer long lasting play & fun for the entire family. One style option is shown in the photos, but other designs will be possible - limited only by the artist's creativity. As time permits, students may create more than one game OR explore additional options, including gnomes, trees and ornaments. This workshop takes place in TWO classes set two weeks apart. After the first class, your creations will be properly dried and kiln fired to 1,940 degrees F. In the second class you will learn to decorate with glazes. After a final kiln firing to 2,200 degrees F, your work will be ready for pick up. Finished work will be out of the second, final kiln and ready for pick up no later than December 10th.

Lynn Greenwade
I am known as The Toad House Lady - a nickname in which I take considerable pride. I create whimsical ceramic houses for toads and fairies, complete with a selection of creatures who reside in my mythical Fairy Village. Playing with clay and glazes keeps me young and always learning. I first discovered pottery in college as I worked toward my teaching degree, ending up with a minor in art, mainly due to accumulating LOTS of pottery hours. One of my favorite memories is tending the university salt kiln through the night and hurling rock salt into the gas fire to create its own special kind of glaze. I show and sell my work in well known fine art / craft shows several times a year. Mena has been my home for more than 20 years and there is no place I would rather be.
