In this session, participants will learn to make tapestry weavings using a variety of provided materials and techniques. Together we will learn how to warp the loom and add weft fiber. Participants can expect to leave the workshop with the confidence to finish their weaving in their own time, with enough materials and resources to do so. Materials provided: fiber, yarn, scissors, pom pom makers, warp thread, hand outs to take home Loom is not included in this session. Please reach out to me for purchasing recommendations if you don't have one already. Loom size will be dependent on the type of project the participant is wanting to complete.
About Melinda
I've always been a crafty person, but I became a professional crafter in 2018 when I started to help manage a craft studio in Portland, OR. I know, dream job, right?? My main gig, besides taking care of my two little boys, is embroidery. I love the portability of it and how I can work on it bit by bit to make something really beautiful - kind of like life these days! It also gives me a moment to slow down which I find to be very meditative and necessary. When I'm not teaching embroidery, I've also taught classes on weaving, needle felting, candle making, and plant related crafts (kokedamas, cement planters, and mounted plants).
