Learners will begin by discussing and implementing techniques of transferring designs to fabric depending on the project they wish to do, and from there, learn 3-5 beginner stitches. I will work one on one with the student(s) showing them new techniques as they become ready, at their pace. The session will conclude with the learner being confident enough to finish the project on their own time, with all the tools and resources they will need to do so.
Supplies: I provide everything from material, hoop, embroidery floss, needles, handouts, etc. If you want to work on something specific, please let me know and I will cater the session to that specific project!
About Melinda
I've always been a crafty person, but I became a professional crafter in 2018 when I started to help manage a craft studio in Portland, OR. I know, dream job, right?? My main gig, besides taking care of my two little boys, is embroidery. I love the portability of it and how I can work on it bit by bit to make something really beautiful - kind of like life these days! It also gives me a moment to slow down which I find to be very meditative and necessary. When I'm not teaching embroidery, I've also taught classes on weaving, needle felting, candle making, and plant related crafts (kokedamas, cement planters, and mounted plants).
